Who we are

About Paws and Scissors

A small salon that opened in Bydgoszcz in 2024. We work with dogs and cats — in separate zones, with different schedules, and without pretending the two are the same.

Our approach

What we care about

Most grooming salons treat every animal roughly the same way and adjust the price by size. We find that approach adequate at best. Coat types, breed history, and individual temperament genuinely matter — and they change what a good grooming session looks like.

We opened Paws and Scissors because we wanted a place where you don't have to explain from scratch why your Persian needs a different approach than a Domestic Shorthair, or why your Husky should never be shaved. Those things should just be known.

The cat and dog separation isn't just a talking point. It affects scheduling, zone design, and how we handle handoffs. A cat that can smell a waiting room full of dogs is not having a calm session, regardless of how skilled the groomer is.

Breed knowledge, not breed lists

We work with specific breeds because we've learned them — not because we've added them to a service menu. If we don't know a breed well enough, we'll say so.

Price before session, always

You'll know what you're paying before we start. If the coat is in worse condition than expected, we'll tell you — not charge you extra without asking.

No upsells during the visit

We don't add services you didn't ask for. If we think something would benefit your animal, we'll mention it — but whether to add it is always your decision.

Hard limits we don't cross

We don't shave double-coated breeds. We don't continue a session when an animal is clearly distressed. We don't apply products that could conflict with veterinary treatment.

The team

Who grooms your animal

Our team is small. That's intentional — it means your animal sees the same person most visits.

Zofia Kamińska

Lead Groomer · Dogs

Zofia trained in Warsaw and spent four years at a breed-specific salon before moving to Bydgoszcz. She works primarily with large and double-coated breeds — Goldens, Labradors, Spaniels, and Nordic breeds — and has a particular interest in deshedding techniques.

She covers: full grooming, deshedding treatment, breed consultations for new clients.

Tomasz Wiśniewski

Groomer · Cats & Small Dogs

Tomasz worked as a veterinary assistant before retraining as a groomer, which shapes how he handles animals that are anxious or resistant. He leads all cat grooming sessions and also works with small and toy breeds.

He covers: cat grooming, express groom, spa and coat care, first-visit consultations for nervous animals.
